    The CPRE certification is a professional examination from International Requirements engineering board (IREB) Germany. IREB supports a single, universally accepted, international qualification scheme, aimed at Requirements Engineering for professionals, by providing the core syllabi and by setting guidelines for accreditation and examination. The program gives a comprehensive overview of the requirements process in requirements engineering /management. The CPRE curriculum provides a blend of academics, research and industry practice.

    About the certificate
    The Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE) is a personal certificate aimed at individuals working in Requirements Engineering, Business Analysis and Testing. It will expand your professional knowledge and help you to become more successful in your job.
    The certification scheme is developed by the IREB, the contents are taught by independent training providers and the CPRE exam can be taken at approved certification bodies. The CPRE certificate has lifetime validity.
    This is a 3 tier certification scheme.

    Foundation Level
    The CPRE Foundation Level covers the fundamentals of the Requirements Engineering domain, methodology and available techniques.
    There are no prerequisites to apply for it.

    Advanced Level
    The CPRE Advanced Level stands for mastering and using methods and techniques. There are three choices for achieving an Advanced Level certificate:
    • Requirements Elicitation & Consolidation (English and German)
    • Requirements Modeling (English and German)
    • Requirements Management (German)
    To apply for the Advanced Level the CPRE Foundation Level must have been completed successfully

    Expert Level
    The Expert Level is in the planning stage.

    What is the examination pattern?

    The exam must be completed within 75 minutes and covers 45 multiple choice questions. On request non-native speakers may be granted a 15 minute extension. Depending on their difficulty questions are allocated a different number of points. The exam is closed-book: no materials may be used during the examination, with the exception of a language dictionary. To pass the exam, you must achieve at least 60 % of the total possible score.
